This approved document, which takes effect on 1 October 2010, has been approved and issued by the Seceretary of State to provide practical guidance on ways of compiling with the energy efficiency requirements and regulation 7 of the Building Regulations 2000 (SI 2000/2531) for England and Wales, as amended.

This document has been approved by the Secretary of State to provide practical guidance on ways of complying with the requirements in Part F of Schedule 1 to, and regulations 16C, 20AA and 20C (in so far it relates to fixed systems for mechanical ventilation) of, the Building Regulations 2000 (SI 2000/2531) for England and Wales, as amended, and regulations 12AA and 12C (in so far as it relates to fixed systems for mechanical ventilation) of the Building (Approved Inspectors etc) Regulations 2000 (SI2000/2531) for England and Wales (as amended).
