Visofold 1000 Slim Aluminium Bifold Doors

Our aluminium bifold doors are manufactured using the Smart Visofold 1000 Slim system, which combines strong aluminium frames with large glazed panels and a modern square sash design. With slim sightlines of approximately 122mm, you get more glass and less visible frame, allowing plenty of natural light into your home.

These doors are a practical choice for kitchen extensions, living rooms, conservatories and openings leading onto patios or gardens. When closed, they provide a fully glazed entrance with excellent views outside. When opened, the panels fold neatly together, giving you more space to move between your home and garden.

We supply made-to-measure aluminium bifold doors in configurations from 2 to 8 panels. You can customise and order 2, 3 or 4-panel doors directly using our online designer above. For larger configurations, bespoke frame colours or options not available in the designer, please contact our team for a quotation.

122mm Sightlines

Slim Aluminium Frames with a Modern Square Sash

The Visofold 1000 Slim system uses a 70mm-deep aluminium profile with sightlines of approximately 122mm. This means the frames take up less visible space while still providing the strength needed to support large glazed panels.

The square sash design gives the doors a clean, contemporary finish. Unlike older curved sash profiles, the straight edges create a simpler appearance that works particularly well with modern extensions and renovated properties.

Designed to Keep Your Home Comfortable

Our aluminium bifold doors come with 28mm argon-filled double glazing and toughened safety glass as standard. The aluminium profiles incorporate polyamide thermal barriers, which help reduce heat transfer between the inside and outside of your home.

Our aluminium bifold doors system also uses multiple rubber seals to help keep out draughts and rainwater when the doors are closed.

With double glazing, the complete door system can achieve a U-value as low as 1.5 W/m²K, depending on the size and specification selected.

Secure and Easy to Operate

We use secure locking hardware to help protect your home.

  • 3-Point Locking: Fitted to independently opening traffic doors.
  • ABS 3-Star Cylinder: Our standard master door cylinder, tested to Sold Secure Diamond grade.
  • Intermediate Shootbolts: Used to secure the folding panels in applicable configurations.

The folding panels operate on stainless-steel rollers, allowing the doors to slide and fold along the track. The system also incorporates intermediate shootbolt handles, D-handles and hinges, depending on the configuration.

Keeping the tracks clean and free from debris will help maintain smooth operation over time.

Inward or Outward Opening

Our aluminium bifold doors can open inwards or outwards, depending on your preference.

  • Open Out: The panels fold towards the outside, helping you keep more space available inside your room.
  • Open In: The panels fold into your room, keeping the outside area clear.

You can also choose configurations that fold to the left, right or both sides, depending on the number of panels.

What Is a Traffic Door?

A traffic door is an independently opening panel that allows you to enter or leave your property without folding back the entire bifold door.

We offer traffic door options on selected configurations, making everyday access to your garden or patio more convenient.

How to Measure for Aluminium Bifold Doors

Before ordering, measure the opening where your new bifold doors will be installed.

    Measure the Width

    Take measurements across the top, middle and bottom of the opening. Record the smallest measurement.

  2. 2

    Measure the Height

    Measure from the top of the opening to the finished floor or intended threshold level at the left, centre and right. Record the smallest measurement.

  3. 3

    Check the Opening

    Make sure the opening is level and square, and that there's enough space for your chosen folding direction.

  4. 4

    Confirm Your Door Size

    Check the required fitting allowance with your installer before entering your final manufacturing dimensions.
